Reflection 2
Benefits
1. How do you think your English writing skills have improved after completing this Wix e-portfolio?
-- I think it did improved for a little bit, I mean it should be processing otherwise I would become a terrible person with zero improvement after taking part in a writing training for an year. However, I think it is not much about the Wix portfolio, I think the process I made in terms of increasing my capacity of vocabulary or ways to write were according to the actions of writing not building up an E-portfolio.
2. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for the final essay drafts?
-- I don't have much confidence to publish the stuff I wrote, yet, putting them on Wix is quite fair, as it is only sharing them with the peers who visited my site.
3. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for journal writing and commenting?
-- This is my favorite part of the whole thing, I actually like seeing how are lives of my peers going on, and kind of creating a platform for us to communicate.
4. Do you think that journal writing should be conducted in the same way as essay writing (i.e., Draft 1, peer review, Draft 2, conferencing, and Draft 3 on Wix)? Why or why not?
-- Yes, this routine is good, the more process an essay takes, a better essay it will be.
5. What did you benefit from TA feedback after you posted each final essay draft and journal on your Wix e-portfolio? (TA feedback was presented via Excel file and PPT slides).
-- I think most of time I was receiving comments from the TA about the appearance of the website, or how the essay was presented (i.e., the fonts are too small, the title should be in the central spot, the colour of the background is too dark, etc.), but not much about how I write, but it is fair enough. As she is also giving comment from the point of view as a reader.
6. What did you benefit from conducting self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio in the second semester?
-- Basically, just checking if everything is okay, and checking is important.
7. How did this Wix e-portfolio enhance your skills other than writing?
-- I learnt how to make my stuffs look better on the screen, I could say, in terms of forming and composing. it comes out not only word, but a well-formed article to read.
8. Overall, what did you benefit from creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio? How is it different from uploading your assignments on ecourse2?
-- If the essays are only uploading onto ecourse2, the sense of achievement will be less than the way we are dealing with the essays now(putting them on Wix). Actually, I felt quite insecure in terms of letting people to see the things I wrote, but am overcoming it day by day as it is compulsory in this course.
Challenges
1. What difficulties have you encountered in terms of creating and editing your Wix e-portfolio over these two semesters?
-- Wix, sometimes has it own technical problem which causes it users unable to enter the website. And sometimes, after publishing the essay, it just didn't come out as the way I formed and see how it is on my computer.
2. Among all the difficulties mentioned above, what was the most challenging one? How did you handle this challenge?
--retry and try again, wait for 15 minutes and enter the website again.
3. Will you continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future? Why or why not?
-- not really, the major reason is just me, I don't feel comfortable sharing my life on the internet in every form.
